Samenwerkende Tandartsen continues its growth agenda together with NPM Healthcare
NPM Healthcare B.V. (“NPM Healthcare”) acquires an equity interest in Samenwerkende Tandartsen Nederland B.V. (“STN”). The accession of NPM Healthcare as a shareholder will enable STN to continue to develop its leading position in primary oral healthcare.
The new shareholding structure is expected to become effective in mid-October 2011 after consent has been given by the Netherlands Competition Authority (Nederlandse Mededingingsautoriteit).
NPM Healthcare, a long-term investor in healthcare, is very pleased with the proposed transaction. STN will be NPM Healthcare’s third investment, following those in ArtsenZorg and Zonnestraal Eye Hospital. Diederik de Groot van Embden (Director of NPM Healthcare): “NPM Healthcare focuses on solid Dutch businesses in primary and secondary healthcare that provide high-quality, customer-focused healthcare. STN is a prime example of a company seeking to distinguish itself for the quality it offers to its patients. Our investment will provide an added boost to STN in its pursuit of further growth into a nationally-operating general dental care chain.”
Samenwerkende Tandartsen Nederland will continue to operate under the same name following the transaction and will continue to focus on providing high-quality healthcare for a broad group of patients. Chris Borgers (General Manager): “Patients’ wishes in terms of healthy, white teeth are continually becoming more ambitious. Advancing technology means that the possibilities are increasing apace, and we always want to offer our customers access to the best possible healthcare. We will accordingly continue to invest in high-quality, properly trained healthcare teams working in attractive practices and providing an even better level of service.”
There are many advantages for dentists as well. Alexander Melis (Founder and Operations Director): “We offer custom solutions for dentists struggling with high workloads or business succession issues. Despite the increasing degree of regulation as well as administrative and similar obligations, dentists in our group can once again be dentists who have time for their patients.”
Profile of Samenwerkende Tandartsen Nederland Samenwerkende Tandartsen is a leading player in general dental care in the Netherlands.
